Drawing is my daily exercise. My technique involves only one attempt on one sheet of paper. If it doesn't work out, I start again, many times. I am happy when at least one picture satisfies me during a "session". If I don't get any, I get annoyed and tired. That's why drawing is always a risk of failure for me, I don't see it as meditation or a way to relax, but rather as a small challenge.
For as long as I can remember, there are always at least four cats in our house. Their company is pleasant to me and very familiar. Cats are plastic, graceful and funny, but I do not attach any special meaning to the image of these animals - it's just nature, which is always at hand for my essays. Thus my series "Cats" was created.
