Sounds of the City

"Sounds of the City" is a project where the sounds of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Odessa, Mariupol, as well as the combined sound of the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, were recorded and transformed into art objects with the help of sound design programs and 3D rendering.
The idea to create "Sounds of the City" appeared to three initiators: producer of GOODMEDIA production Alyona Tymoshenko, art curator, founder of the platform of contemporary young art Spilne Art Natalia Tkachenko and audiovisual artist, co-founder of audiovisual design studio NotJustForm Lera Ginzburg.

The project includes sculptures and documentaries about the creation of art objects. Each sculpture is based on memories and reflections of famous citizens: artists, athletes, artists, scientists, and entrepreneurs.
Sounds were recorded and transformed into art objects using sound design and 3D visualization software.
The initiative was implemented with the support of private patrons, crowdfunding, and also the assistance of city administrations.

"We want to show how different art can be. That the combination of several different disciplines and modern technologies can give birth to a new art form, and then become an element of the urban landscape and part of the life of citizens," says Natalia Tkachenko.

The next step for the initiators is to create similar sculptures for as many other cities in the country as possible, involving national businesses, local entrepreneurs, and the city administrations.
